DailyQ is a Progressive Web App that I designed and built to foster a community around engaging, thought-provoking polls. My client’s initial vision was for an iOS-only app, but I proposed a PWA as the ideal solution. Here’s why:
PWA Power: Benefits for DailyQ
- Cross-Platform Reach: DailyQ is instantly accessible on any device with a web browser – no app store downloads required. This maximizes user reach regardless of platform preference.
- App-like Experience: PWAs deliver a smooth, native-app feel directly within the browser, enhancing usability and engagement.
- Frictionless Access: Users can dive into DailyQ’s polls, results, and social features without the barrier of an app installation process.
- Admin Control: A dedicated admin panel allows for content management, including question creation, answer options, and poll scheduling.
- Social Sharing: Encourages community growth and participation with easy social sharing options.
Key Features
- Engage with Polls: Users can quickly answer intriguing daily polls and discover aggregated community responses.
- Discover and Compare: Explore poll results and see how your own opinions align with the broader community.
- Admin Capabilities: Content managers maintain a dynamic, engaging platform with robust content creation tools.
The Tech
Experience It Yourself
Take DailyQ for a spin! You can try it here. You can also find the complete source code on Github.
A Reusable Foundation
As authentication is a near-universal need in web projects, I’ve strategically isolated the DailyQ authentication code into a separate GitHub repository. This allows for efficient reuse in my future projects and offers a valuable resource for other developers. You can find that on Github.
